Windshield Calibration FAQ

For the ADAS safety systems to work properly, your vehicle manufacturer recommends that your new windshield needs to be calibrated after every glass replacement, or whenever the camera is removed from the glass and reinstalled.

Most calibration services can be completed in less than one-hour.

There are three types of calibrations, dynamic, static, and dual which uses the dynamic and static process together. Dynamic calibrations are performed by driving the vehicle while a computer is connected to reset the camera back to the factory specifications. Static calibrations are performed using a connected computer along with a set of specific aiming targets and measurements in a controlled environment. The dual method incorporates both of the above processes of using aiming targets, and driving the vehicle.

Costs vary by the type of service being performed and generally range from $200-$500 dollars. Insurance companies will cover the extra cost for the calibrations to be completed as it is a part of the vehicles safety system.
